St. Croix Courier New Brunswick - Canada The Late Robert Pool 16th December 1869. It is our painful duty to announce the death of Mr. Robert Pool, which occurred at the residence of C. F. Todd, Esq., on Monday. His death was caused by a blow on the head received from a fall whilst skating, which produced congestion of the brain. Mr. Pool was a native of Castle Douglas, where his parents and other relatives live. He has no relations in this country. He resided for some years in Gloucester County. For a time he was Principal of the Milltown Academy, but this position he gave up to engage in mercantile pursuits, and he was latterly engaged in the office of Messrs. Geo. A. Boardman & Co. Mr. Pool was a young man of excellent character, and he was deservedly esteemed and respected by every one. He was forward in every good work. The Sabbath School especially claimed a large share of his attention. He was shortly to be installed Worshipful Master of the new lodge of Free and Accepted Masons about to be erected at Milltown. The remains of Mr. Pool were interred with Masonic honours by the Master, Officers and Brethren of Sussex Lodge, and followed to the grave by a large concourse of sincere and sorrowing friends. |
