Co.’s service 1913; Colonial C.S. from 1924; North Rhodesia, District Magistrate, 1926.

 

Poole-Hughes, Rev. Cannon, William Worthington, born 26th November 1865, 2nd son of William Poole-Hughes, of Llandovery. Educated Llandovery College; Balliol 1884-8 (J.W.R.F. de P.) Math. Sch; 1st Math. MODs. 1886; 2nd Math. 1888; B.A. 1889; M.A. 1895; O.U. (occasionally) and College. Rugby XVs. Master, Lower School, Uppingham, 1888-91; Army Classes, Sherborne, 1892-1900; Ord 1890; Warden and Headmaster of Llandovery College 1900-27; Rural Dean of Llandadock 1927; Canon of St. David’s 1923. Married 1914, Bertha, daughter of Richard Rhys; one daughter, died 7th July 1928.
