Newspaper Index Robert Pool Index Robert Pool - Article - 22nd October 1892 The Annan "Poke-Net" Fishers. Willaim Wyllie, fisherman, Annan, one of those who hold license from the burgh of Annan to fish for salmon with poke-net, was charged with a contravention of the Salmon Act by failing to remove his nets within thirty-six hours after the beginning of the annual close time. He pled not guilty, and was defended by Mr. Johnstone, solicitor, Annan. Constable Ninian Jamieson and Constable Robert Pool deponed to visiting Annan Sandrig on 17th September, seven days after close time began and finding fifteen clouts or sixty pokes belonging to accused still there.........(long article) |
