David Pool - Article - 26th December 1866

David Pool, Inspector of Police, Annan, on being examined by Mr. Ewart, writer, Lockerbie, and clerk to the Annan District Board, deponed that he had charge of the Constables employed in watching the fisheries in the district of the river Annan. He received information a while ago that a number of salmon were being caught by means of poke-nets on the shore of the Solway, which he visited on a certain day in the month of October: he visited the shore in the neighbourhood of Loch on the morning of the 11th, and the Annan Sand Rig on the morning of the 12th, being a Friday. He new the Annan Sand Rig was within the district of the river Annan. (Article continues at length)
