Barbara Pool - Article - 15th June 1895

Presentation

On Friday night last the members of Kelton Parish Church choir presented Miss Barbara Pool with a handsome marble clock, and Mr. John Payne with a silver hot water jug, on the occasion of their marriages. Mr. Woodley, organist, in making the presentations, referred to the long service and great interest taken by them and the success of the choir, both by individual work and influence, and asked them, in the name of the choir, to accept the presents as small tokens of the great respect they held for them, and of their good wishes for their future health and happiness. Mr. John Payne, in reply, spoke of the great pleasure it had always given them to be connected with the choir, and thanked them sincerely on behalf of both for the presents and good wishes conveyed to them, and assured them that they would be highly valued for the associations connected with them. The articles were supplied by Mr. J. T. Dowdney, jeweller and watchmaker, Castle Douglas.
